This project delivered a mix of 150 social houses, affordable homes aimed at first home buyers and larger family homes.

 

For Housing New Zealand the project delivered up to 20 new homes. They are warm and modern and suit the needs of our tenants.

The redevelopment utilised existing amenities, such as the nearby health centre, schools and nearby shops to create a functional shared place with a real sense of community. The planning of the new homes included enhanced green spaces and improved links to transport.

Our development partner City Living (external link) is a local developer with a solid track record of successfully completing large scale and complex developments. We were looking for a partner who could demonstrate how their redevelopment approach would reflect a strong sense of community, and City Living are particularly innovative and strong in this area.

 

What social housing providers are going to be part of the project?

Wellington Housing Trust (external link) and Accessible Homes (external link) have purchased homes in the redevelopment.

 

How many new house are there?

  • Housing New Zealand  – Up to 20
  • Social Housing – 20 plus
  • Private ownership –  Around 110

The houses are  predominantly single storey, with a mix of bedroom sizes, from 1 bedroom to 5 bedrooms.
