Introduction by Housing New Zealand Acting Chief Executive Greg Groufsky
Hello and welcome to this edition of Rooftops, Housing New Zealand’s regular newsletter for our stakeholders.
There has been lots happening in our world and Rooftops is a great way we can share some of our activities.
Our core role is to provide social housing for those with the greatest need but our staff do much more than that.
As you will see from the stories below, our people engage with our tenants, their communities, other agencies and stakeholders in many different ways.
Connecting with our communities is important to us.
Many of you will be aware our former Chief Executive, Glen Sowry, left earlier this year to take up an exciting new opportunity.
I am pleased to let you know that Andrew McKenzie has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of Housing New Zealand.
Andrew has had an outstanding career to date in the public and private sectors leading the financial function for the establishment of Auckland Council and currently holds the role of General Manager Finance at Fletcher Construction.
At Auckland Council, he contributed to the successful amalgamation of eight councils and over 30 subsidiaries in 2010. In 2013, he was recognised as Chief Financial Officer of the Year for New Zealand.
We look forward to welcoming Andrew when he officially starts on September 20.
In the meantime, I trust you will enjoy this edition of Rooftops.
